Terms of service

You need an account to record in the web app. Give us accurate details and keep your password safe; you are responsible for what happens under your account.

Content lives in workspaces. The workspace owner decides who joins, with which role (owner, admin, creator or viewer), and where videos are stored. If you create a workspace for an organisation, you confirm you may bind it to these terms.

Guests can watch, comment and react on shared links without an account. These terms apply to them too.

• Free: up to 50 videos per creator, 10 minutes each, 1080p.
• ClipnClip Cloud: billed per creator per month or per year; videos stored by us.
• Own bucket: billed per creator per month or per year at a lower price; videos stored in an S3-compatible bucket you provide and pay for.

Current prices are on the pricing page. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in Settings → Billing; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. Payments are processed by Stripe. Viewers and guests are always free. Prices exclude taxes where they apply.

In own-bucket mode you are responsible for the bucket, its costs, its access keys and its availability. If the bucket is unreachable, recording and playback stop; we never fall back to storing your videos ourselves.

• The ClipnClip desktop licence is a one-time purchase, separate from any web subscription. No monthly or yearly fee.
• One licence may be activated on up to 3 devices you use. Deactivate a device to move the licence to another one.
• It includes all 1.x updates. A future major version (2.0 and later) may be offered as a paid upgrade; 1.x keeps working.
• The desktop app works offline. Activation happens once per device; after that, the app does not contact us.
• The licence is personal to the purchaser and may not be resold, shared beyond 3 devices or published. We may revoke a key that has been made public.

Refunds: placeholder, 14 days from purchase if the licence has not been activated on more than one device.

You keep all rights in the videos, transcripts and comments you create. You give us only the permission needed to store, process, transcode, transcribe and show them to the people you share them with. We do not use your content to train AI models.

Do not use ClipnClip to:

• record or share people without the notice or consent the law requires;
• share illegal content, malware, or material that infringes someone else's rights;
• harass, threaten or exploit anyone, including minors;
• probe, overload or attack the service, or get around plan limits, link passwords or licence checks;
• send spam through comments, links or invitations.

We may remove content or suspend access that breaks these rules, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it. Report abuse to abuse@[domain].

You can delete your account or workspace at any time in Settings → Data & GDPR. We may end or suspend your access for a serious breach of these terms, or with 30 days' notice for any other reason, in which case we refund the unused part of a prepaid subscription.

After termination you can export your data for 30 days; then it is deleted as described in the privacy policy. A desktop licence you bought keeps working on its activated devices.

Placeholder: the service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, our total liability in any 12 months is limited to the amount you paid us in that period, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

We will give at least 30 days' notice by email of material changes to these terms. Governing law and courts: placeholder, [jurisdiction].
